The flooding attack onto our servers appears now more probably as being a DDoS attack by reflection and amplification, targetting the IPs that we at first thougth were the attackers, through spoofing. Today has apparently seen a significant increase in the violence over Syria: fights and areas surrounded by tanks were reporte around Damascus in Kafr Souseh, Al-Tadamoun, Aqraba, Sidi Kadad and Tadamun. The International Airport highway in Damascus was reportedly closed (all exits). Fights and shelling have been reported in Deir Ezzor and Daraa. Important security consideration on using Mumble. The implementation from the official website (mumble.sourceforge.net) implements an SSL management that does not provide Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS). This means that if your traffic is monitored and the Mumble server you using has its SSL private key compromised, the people who monitor would be able to read/listen to all your past conversations that you thougth were secured. A modified version of the Mumble server that provides PFS is running on talk.endno.de (port 64738), and this server should thus be preferred to others. Syrian Army shelled the farms area in Barzeh neighborhood of the capital, Damascus. At 6:00 am local time, huge military force arrived to the farms area and at around 7:30 am two massive explosions were heard followed by intensive shooting. Security are forbidding entry into the capital and forcing many people to go back to their cities or towns. Only a few people are allowed to enter.
